I enjoy having a clean home. I enjoy, even moreso, feeling good about the cleansers being used to clean my home. Using toxic chemicals such as bleach and sodium laureth sulfates makes my skin, my immune system, and the environment unhappy. I have found a way to make pretty much all of my own cleansers using only 4 ingredients. I invite you to try it out and see if they work as great for you as they have for me!
- 5 drops Sal Suds
- 1Tbsp lemon or lime juice
- water to fill container half way
- white vinegar to fill container half way
I use between a 16-22 ounce spray bottle for this mix. This mix acts as a deodorizer, degreaser, and general cleaner
- 3Tbsp Sal Suds
- 2Tbsp lemon or lime juice
- water to fill half the container
- white vinegar to fill half the container
I use a soy sauce bottle for this, so about 8-12 ounces with the slow flow lid attachment. Only 1 tablespoon is necessary for dishwashing, and no rinse agent needed. Though, white vinegar works excellently as a rinse agent!
- 1 drop Sal Suds in the reservoir
- hot water to fill the reservoir
Make sure to fill the water in the reservoir slowly! The bubbles may get away from you! This combo has successfully brought up all messes on my carpets for years without causing any residue. Optionally, I add a few drops of peppermint essential oil to the reservoir during the summer to avoid bugs coming into my home, or tea tree oil for cleaning up biological messes.
- 1 Tbsp Sal Suds
Bonus: My MUST HAVE cleaning ‘accessory,’ the microfiber cloth!
